Underdrive pulleys...good investment? How much horsepower should i expect to gain?
I am running a 1000 watt amp and sub in my car and if i get the pulleys will the alternator run to slowly to power it?

Not alot at all. Ive heard so many different things when it comes to pulleys. I put Mr.Gasket pulleys on my 88. I couldnt stand them because of the whole dim light situation so I took them off the next week. Some people say you will get 10hp, some people say you will get 2.

1000 watt???? that means nothing. Is that RMS (continuous) or peak? If it is peak then your amp is only pulling a small amount. Could be 200 watts RMS which is not much on your alt.

Plus I doubt you would have a 1000 Watt RMS amp connected to a stock alt....that alt cant supply that power.....lol

Regardless of the system, u/d pulleys slow down your aseccory drives, and the alternator is one. I've heard that if you are ideling (with pulleys) and you have your system up real loud its possible to stall the car.
