hi yesterday i installed a bbk cold air intake, fenderwall mount, and k&N, when i rev it up it pauses and makes a hiccup noise like its sucking for air then revs up is this normal. also i installed msd distributor cap, coil, and wires.what would be the best timing isnt stock 10, but i heard that ur suppose to bump it to 12degrees,any help would be great thanks.

you might have a leak. in the intake. check your connections. different cars react to different timing. i have mine set at 15 anything less its slugish. some like 14 some like 12 and etc. set it and drive it then adjust to you feel good with it. jsut make sure you dont hear a pinging sound[sounds like a spray paint can shaking] if you do back out timing

Just a thought, alot of car have this problem due to restricted flow on the other side of the engine. have you looked at your exhuast setup yet.

if its only for a brief moment, you hear the cool sucking noise like when you take in a deep breath really quickly, its perfectly normal. Thats just what happends when you put on a low restriction air inlet. Perfectly normal.

My timing is at like 13 or 12and I'm getting some pings, need to back it off a bit I think.
