sure that is a t-5 tranny? i'm just staring at it,and can't think of where it goes to???

Im preety sure its a T5, I got the bellhousing off the same friend and it fit perfectly, everything looks the same except for this one has no sensor input. I just talked to a friend of mine he said the tranny came out of a 84 5.0 mustang.

Yes it has a plug in for the rev.

I think the gear ratios are different, take A look at this website I found.

Is having the 84 ratio better than what I had?

the 2.95 will be less off the line but u will have more traction the 3.35 will be more as long as u keep traction

That is the reverse sensor. That ball bearing rolls against the shift fork when you put the car in reverse. You should just swap it over. Also the 85 tranny might not have a breather on it, I would check and swap that over from you old one as well if its not equiped.

damn beat me to it..i just got done looking some stuff up..3rd gear pulls a little better,but trq rating is kinda weak....can you say transmission #7 by by?

Yeah this is going to be a temperary tranny till I save up for a new one. So first wont pull as hard as my old one? But third will kick more *** I guess I can live with that for a couple months.
