RE: 185's
ok cool thanks... i plan on staying n/a so if i am understanging right the 165 will do me justice on what i am trying to get done with my car.... i know you said to call ed curtis for the cam but for a cam choice would you recommend going with a cam with a .512 lift or a little smaller...is that good...i got one more question...other than valve clearance issues why does every one always stay away from big cams...i am new to this whole cam and lift issue...but any ways thanks for all the help it is greatly apprecited, and help a great deal..thank you...

RE: 185's
truthfully if i had to start over it would be stud mounted afr's with high rev springs.....566/.576 with a 236/242 dur cam.
for 165's i would go with upgraded springs with a .534/.544 with a 224/232 dur.cam.
as you know a cam is a air pump, and with a 306 you have your limitations vs. a 331/347. not to mention where your motor is going to peak out at.too big a cam can hurt it big time.especially if your heads/intake don't flow well.
Quik is pretty good on cams..like i said before i made some small mistakes on my set up.
