Default i have heard is it true....

i have been trying to find a good head cam combo.... and i have heard that the afr 165cc heads and the x303 are one bad *** combo....has any one tried it...and does anyone know if the pistons have to be fly cut or not...i want my stang for weekend driving on the streets and at the track...trying to get a good low 13 high 12 second car on all motor....any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks

here's a pic or two...it's a 306 1.6's rpm intake,L/T's,full msd,75 mass 70 t-body 24's
1in spacer,two electric fans,powermaster strtr/alt.,u/d's,ect.

just get ceramic L/T's if you go that route,..if you are getting 165's give rick anderson a call or ed curtis. if you havn't bought the cam yet?

ok thank you...i will....i got my old set up...but i want to start over and clean it up and do this one right and have a solid motor.... i will contact ed curtis for my cam....thanks again...if there is any thing else you can think of that i should look into or tha will help me a great deal i would greatly appreciate it that you once again..

well are you having your motor rebuilt? or having it machined? mine is a D.S.S pro-bullet (i have been bad things on them both 4.6's,and5.0's)ran the **** out of it for two yrs. with no problems. very streetable car too. i took it for a long drive,and got like 18mi to a gallon which i was happy with. oh if i was you i'd get stud mounted (non pedestal) with upgraded springs.

Default 185's

i heard that anything over stock displacement and cam go 185's for a stock cam stock block go 165's the 185's will give you a longer powerband were sometimes the 165's will hit a brick wall at 5K with a cam... and larger displacment
