Default Shift Kit

with a shift kit for the fox trans go says you can freely shift from 1st to 4th but what about the fifth gear does it shift automatically from fourth or you lose you 5th?

P.S does it feel like a real manual

There is no fifth gear. You will need a manual valve body to be able to shift freely from 1st to 4th. Its probably somewhat like a manual trans I guess, but I doubt nothing beats the real thing.

A properly built AOD would walk all over a T-5. You are correct though that the AOD doesn't have a 5th gear. I've got the transgo shift kit but I did not install the tailshaft thing so that I could manually shift from 1st-O/D.

junior the governor allows for a higher rpm shift. i belive it was called the High rpm kit. its been a few years since i looked at it

yes a properly setup AOD will walk a T5 in a dig. now a excellent driver with a T5 will have good pace

and another thing gears dont mean squat if your slow at shifting. raced a vert with bolt ons and 410s and me and my notch being stock with ORpipe and flows dumped and powershifting[stockshifter] put about a 1 car length on him.

so to what im saying is i dunno but the steelers are kicking packers *****

yep if it wasnt for that bum maddox and the game against NE where the officals added 30seconds to the clock then they would have a perfect season. funny is after the loss to NE the officals said sorry about the added 30 seconds to the game but what can you do. if you didnt favor the NE pats then it would of been different and maddox is just a bum

That was rather random...

Anyways, quik do you know what the thing is that 91convertible was talking about that lets you shift an aod freely to any gear? If so, what do you need to buy to do it (if there is more than one thing) and is it worth it if you don't have a full drag car.

what he is talking about is what i said. it doesnt allow free shifting you can shift a AOD anyway with out it. it just allows for the shift points to be higher. i believe its called the high RPM kit. like i said its been about 3 yrs since i last looked at that transgo kit
