Default RE: Shift Kit

ORIGINAL: Stang_GT_91

with a shift kit for the fox trans go says you can freely shift from 1st to 4th but what about the fifth gear does it shift automatically from fourth or you lose you 5th?

P.S does it feel like a real manual
no, not at all, all the transgo kit does, like every other shift kit is raise shift points and increase oiling

you need a full man valve body, if you went from 1-d in a aod w/ a shift kit, it would still have to shift from 1-2 then 2-3

and a built aod will never miss a shift but "walk" all over a t5 is a S-T-R-E-T-C-H

i've had 2 aod's and 3 5-speed cars, my fastest aod w/ a built trans (2200 stall, transgo shift kit, wide gear set) went 14's w/ 3.73's

my slowest 5-speed went 13.80's w/ tires and 4.10's

now , granted an aod needs at LEAST 3k stall, and 4.10's as well, i am just saying i'm not a aod fan, i tried to be, but just couldn't do it.

not to mention a aod rebuild is 2 grand.............

save the cash and go lentech, do it your self is throwing money away
