clutch problems
 

I have replaced the clutch cable in my car 5 times and i still have the same problem the pedal is very very hard. I have routed it many different ways and even by the the one website you guys gave me and it still has a problem. i bought the MM clutch cable kit since it uses the Ford cable which surpose to be the best and the pedal is still very hard so i dont think its the cable i thinks its something else. Please help

squats and/or the leg press should alleviate that problem of having a hard clutch pedal.

Could just have a very stiff clutch plate. What brand are you using? The FoMoCo one is pretty darn light....

i have a heavy duty clutch in the car but the problem is when i change the cables the is lighter but then it goes back to being really really hard

That's probably because the cable is still stretching itself out. When you say Heavy duty, does the pressure plate have only 3 or 4 fingers on it or is a diaphram multi finger plate?

If it only has 3 or 4 fingers, you're stuck with it. If it's multi-prong (diaphram) style I would say get a differet plate and leave the disc the same.

a bent clutch fork would do it to wouldnt it

my uncle installed the clutch fork with the throwout bearing while i was working on the engine and he knocked the TB out of the fork and i drove the car for 2 months before i noticed that it wasnt there so i think the fork is bent and im going to replace it and also check if anything is missed up before i pull the tranny again

I would think a bent fork would give you other problems as well since it would not engage the plate properly.

then why would a new clutch cable be soft and after 2 days it goes to being hard that wouldnt be a clutch problem or the quadrant so the only thing left is the TB and the Fork

is the cable getting cought or pinched on any thing?
