last year when i went to the ford whatever races in orlando, i saw a crap load of lincoln running, and there is some car club around her were the guys stick 03-04 engines in the newer lincolns

I had an 87 LSC and it was a cool car. They are fox body cars and came with the 5.0 HO motor and an aod/aode as previously stated. The 4v mod motors were in the mark VIII's. The air suspension is kind of a pain. There are places that deal only in the air suspension for these cars though. You can ditch the air suspension and it is covered more or less in the FAQ on the SVPU site.
