Is it true with the T-5 transmission that to put it in reverse, you must first go into 1st gear then into 5th and then into reverse? Or is this just someone trying to pass off a busted transmission?

Also does anyone know where I could get some new headlights with clear corners for a 89 GT, i'm not too sure of which kind to get.

yes you have to put it into a forward gear before reverse, because reverse isnt a syncronized gear... as for the headlights check out 50resto.com

I agree. Sometimes you'll find reverse hard to enage. I was told to try 1st or 3rd before putting in reverse and i haven't had any problems. I've never heard 5th as that is a longer throw from 1st or 3rd.

to get clear corners the cheapest place to get them is eBay and fo your reverse question you dont have to put it into any other gear to get it into reverse but if the gear doesnt match up to then you stood put it into 1st or 3rd to get the gears to match up and it will go right into gear

i just got new head lights a 6pc kit with clears for 110 shipped from laurel mountain mustang <-- they have good stuff at good prices

I got my headlights from mustangs unlimited off ebay, and they leak. and their doorhandles broke after a couple months.I have to put it into 5th before reverse and it works. sometimes I have to let out the clutch a little to get it in, but it goes.
