Default Is It Worth Buying?

Hey Guys! I found a 94 GT for with a 5.0 5-speed with 84,000 miles on it. A fellow member here ran a CarFax on it and it came out clean.

Here are the problems with it that has been found so far with the 1st test drive. The driver's seat needs to be replaced/fixed because the backrest doesn't sit up straight enough to drive it. The airbag sensor light stays on all the time. I didn't drive it, my mother did, and she said the clutch seems awfully tight. There hasn't been a manual transmission in the house for years so are they suppose to be hard to push?

A very close friend, who is a certified auto mechanic, said to just disconnect the airbag and replace the seat with a used one. My dad wants the air bag to work and we have not found a used seat yet. Can the seat be repaired by ourselves?

I would appreciate any opinions because on Monday, if the car is still available, my dad is going to test drive it. If he likes it, he will be doing some serious talking with the seller.

Hey guys, don't sugar coat anything either. This will be MY FIRST CAR and I AM PAYING FOR IT so anything you say is appreciated. Thanks!

How much does he want for it? Then we will know if it is worth it.

My air bag light comes on and off it doesnt mean anything I read that its a computer glitch that is easily fixable. I read that on msn car reviews. The Clutch is a little harder then others. Depending on how hard you may need to get a new clutch cable and then you might as well get an adjustable clutch quadrant that you can get at www.summitracing.com As for the seat someone else will have to help you out with that. To tell you whethere or not its worth it we're going to need to know the price like stangman said.

It's priced around $5,600. I have checked with NADA and Kelly Blue Book and the price is within their boundaries. It's not bad. We can use the defects that we find against them when we talk money. Even before purchasing, we would have a mechanic look at it.

In our area, vehicles with a 5.0 are hard to find unless you want a Foxbody or are willing to drive to the Atlanta area. With the Foxbody, you are still looking at a price tag of $5,000.
