Default 1-d-1 shuffle

I was reading up on the 1-d-1 shuffle and i wante dto know how much it really helps and the possibilty of wrecking my transmission in the process. The tranny is all stock and so is the car.

i will won't lie and say i haven't done it but its not supposed to be good. (have done 100+ times-so far so good)

a better thing would be to throw in some 4.10's, a 3000 rpm converter, shift kit and trans cooler.

1-d-1 shuffle is for the AOD mustangs. Its when you start off the line in lever position "1" then when the time is right...pop it in "d" position for a second then back to "1" position. It will shift into second. Then when the time is right, move to position "d" and it will go to 3rd gear.

not even a tenth improvement. it will ruin the tranny. start saving now, a rebuild is $1800

it causes the intermediate clutches to stay engaged w/ some other clutches due to the fact that car is in 2nd gear , but the shifter is in 1st. it's not a matter of "if" it will wreck it, but "when" it will wreck it.

the aod shifter has only 1-d-od

and shifts into 3rd at about 3500 rpm, so if you pull back into "1" b4 it shifts into 3rd you can hold 2nd til you wanna shift , then shift back to d to shift into 3rd. the back and forth movement nicknamed it the "shuffle"

lentech...lentech everything. he makes a semi manual valvebody that you can switch from full auto to full manual

the only thing i would get different than lentech is the convertor ... "pi" stallion
