Default New Time!!

i went back to the track a couple weeks ago for the first time since spring. i ran 14.3, my best time yet. when i ran in spring all i had done was gears and cat back exauxst since then i got performance clutch, short throw shifter, headers and x-pipe, CAI w/73mm CAF and 65mm TB. Does that sound like a good time? i know i can do better cuz out of the 4 times i ran, the worst R/T i had was when i ran the 14.3, so if i get a better R/T then i think i should shave a .1 or .2 off my time.

RT has no effect on ET at all. you have have a 5 minute RT and still run a 10s or a 20s pass

14.3 isnt bad but there is plent more in that car your not that much heavier then my notch and i went low 13s and could of went a high 12 if i could of launched harder...

yup, you'll lose by a slow rt, but et doesn't start til you break the beams.

now 60' is where it's at.

anything over 1.8 needs improvement. and 1 tenth 60' = 2 tenths et

When i first got my gears i could definitly tell a difference but when i went to the track, the gears didnt help my time at all, i ran the same as i did stock. Maybe its because i had to shift to 4th when before i got the gears i only got to 3rd and i think u also lose traction wit the gears too, if i had slicks then i would def b in the 13s but i dont think i can with street tires.

Well traction can be an issue when racing w/ larger gears so that might be your answer why you were running stock times.

how are you only shifting into 4th at the end?. im way deep in 4th when i cross the traps in the notch. it must be the driving and not doing it aggressive enough

heres some pointers.....slip clutch to your out of hole with street tires or slicks/DRs untill you get a good suspension or clutch
then keep foot planted the entired time, preload the shifter and just tap the clutch before you yank or push the shifter
again never lift off the throttle but be fast with shifter. also watch for street tires cause i can break 4th loose powershifting in the notch. this is the way to drive once you cross the traps then let off the gas. if you are scared to do this you will never get the most out of the car
