Vortech Supercharger
You deff. need the supporting fuel system and ignition to support the charger, but before doing that make sure you do a compression check and a leak down test to see how "healthy" your motor is and the price really all depends on what parts you buy, since you will probaly need atleast a 190lph fuel pump,30lb injectors, tune, ignition box, coil, wires etc....it can get costly. And with heads,intake,etc.. you will need a bigger fuel system to support all of them too.
its a bit more expensive then it at first appears. first you have to get the kit, then injectors, pump, maf recalibrated or new maf, msd box, new plugs, good wires if you dont have them and then a dyno tune wouldnt kill you. you can easily spend an extra $1000 for supporting parts
As has been said it can get expensive buying all the supporting pieces, but the kits that most manufacturers have are fairly complete bolt on's and come with all the supporting hardware. If you aren't trying to go crazy with the boost then one of the cheaper kits with less hardware will work. All that is normlly required is a car thats mechanically sound, a healthy engine, and a good tune to get the most out of it.
