Bring the engine to TDC. take the cap off, and the rotor will be pointing to #1. Best bet is to post this, or any other tech question in the proper tech forum.
Do it this way, look at the cylinder heads. One will be slightly foreward from the other. #1 is on that bank at the front of the engine.
