Im thinking of building up the stock 302 in my 5.0 and then supercharging it. I was thinking of keeping the psi in the 6-9 range. I am just wondering what size heads and carb would be good. Will a 165 head be good enough for a S/C or should i go with 185 heads, and also will a 600 cfm carb be big enough as well? Thanks for any help

With a charger i would do atleast 185cc and a 750,the 600 would be barely enough with a n/a motor,muchless a forced induction motor.

I agree, you wont get full benefit from that much boost with the smaller heads and carb. They would be fine for an N/A application but for blown engine with the boost you want to run go with the 185's and the 750 cfm carb.

you will have to get the carb set up for a super charger. the pressure will collapse the floats. 190 heads are recommended and you'll need a new fuel pump. buy a dominator carb
