BROKEN LUG STUD
i had this same thing happen i put to small of rims on and screwd the lug nuts on to far and had to break a bolt off on each side. What i did was take all the brake off. And then knock the broken one out and replace it with a new one. It is a tight fit but we made it work. Also make sure you know the pistion screws in not pushes. I almost bought a new brake because it wouldnt push in lol
You don't have to pull the axle.. All you need is... Something to get the wheel off of course. And a good sized hammer. And two washers that fit around the new stud to act like a bearing.
Step 1: remove wheel/tire
step 2: Remove brake drum, can be tricky sometimes, tap on outside edge to loosen.
Step 3: With hammer, knocked the old broke stud out.
step 4: its tight but you can get the new stud in from the back, might have to rotate the axle enough to find a gap big enough to get the stud behind there. SO having both back tires off the ground might be a must.
step 5: With the new stud inserted, place two washers over the stud to act like a bearing. with a wrench, tighten the nut until it pulls the stud all the way into the axle.. Don't just stick the stud in an crank down on it. You NEED the washers.
Step 6: remove nut and washers, reinstall brake drum, wheel/trie. And torque the lugs.. And your done.
Easy ****, takes less than 30 mins for a beginner.
