Ever since I have had my car, it had made a slight ticking sound on the driver side. Everytime I modify the car at all, it seems to get louder, especially after exhaust and MSD ignition. I have had my car to mechanics before, but they have never mentioned the sound. After reading a lot, I have found that the noise could be a bad lifter or something of that sort. The thing is that my car is very strong. It performs well. So is there something wrong with my car, or is it my imagination? If I had a bad lifter, then wouldn't I notice a performance loss??? I have a feeling that this is all my imagination, but I want to be sure.

I dunno if this is what you're talking about, but when my car idles the power steering pump makes a bit of noise, like an almost ticking. See if you can pinpoint where the sound is coming from

a slight ticking noise is normal.
but you said it got louder since you did the exhaust
check for exhaust leaks, it makes the same noise.
