quad shocks
I know this might sound stupid but when can you tell that the quad shocks are bad? I bought my stang about 7 months ago and when I asked the guy what he had done to it he told me that the only thing changed on that car was the front shocks and exhaust and that's it. The car is 17 years old and need something but nothing to bad.

RE: quad shocks
Yeah there black. I was told by ford that they don't go bad because theres no movement in them. But I have heard that they do go bad. Who sells them because I know that Auto Zone dosen't. Ford wants 80 each.

RE: quad shocks
wow $80 each...thats crazy?
well i never messed w/ '90 and that was the only new stang i ever had. all others were used, and all of them "felt" like the quads were wore out. but maybe not. i am comparing the feel to a regular rear shock. the quads i have removed felt like no resistance whatsoever...so i assumed they bad, but like i said, i never felt one that was guaranteed good.
are you having isses w/ the handling? is that whats up?
i'm guessing wheel hop, but maybe not.

RE: quad shocks
Some of the little problems that I'm having is that it feels like my back and forth or maybe it has something with my breaks when I'm coming to a stop. The other is that I'm not sure. Some times when I get out of the car and it looks like my wheel is leaning (not that it has anything to do with the shocks) but I stand in front of the car they look fine. Any way I don't know what could be causing the feeling that the rear is moving back and forth.

RE: quad shocks
neither, the quad shocks are inside the rear wheel wells, and attach to the axle to control axle windup.
if you have aftermarket upper and lower control arms there is no need for the quad shocks.
