coupe trunk on convertible?

RE: coupe trunk on convertible?
Most aftermarket lids I have seen are the coupe model and require holes drilled for the vert hinges. I just installed a clean lid this weekend and it turned out better than expected. Blue Oval Industries has about the best deal I've seen and they were pleasant to deal with. I found the easiest way to ensure a good fit was to remove the trunk supports\coil assembly and eyeball the alignment. Then use the plastic gasket from the hinges as templates for the holes. A whole lot easier if you got a helper.
I am thinking about leaving the support assembly off and fabbing some gas struts instead for a cleaner look.
Hope this helps.
