Default Which Valve Covers?

Im looking into getting some new valve covers for my car but i need ones that will cover 1.7 RR. I was looking at these covers:

OR

I really like the second set of valve covers but wasnt sure if they will fit under the intake with a spacer. So has anyone used the second set of valve covers before on a EFI engine. I like to be different and not use the same parts as everyone else so thats why i want those covers also here is a pic of my engine that they will be going on also the intake will be polished to match the covers

I would def get the second set. They also make a different set where the Ford Racing is outlined in red. That would look really good on your motor. Get the 2nd. I also have a thing for the Edelbrock Signature Series. They are really nice also.

Yea, I do like the 2nd ones better than the signature series. Anyway, Im not sure about the clearance issues but if noone has any experience with these I would just give them (whoever you are buying off of) a call and ask them.

o.k. I tried to use the Black w/red tall ford racing valve covers on my 86GT 5.0 efi. I have the Trac Heat intake w/1" spacer, and still had clearance issues with the throttle linkage. Since they don't make a bigger spacer, had to use the efi black ford racing you got pictured here. Someone had told me that I could of modified the linkage, but I didn't feel confedent enough to do myself. I do believe 1.7 will clear on the upper covers pictured here. But since i have not fired up my motor yet,I cannot be sure. My train of thought ,was that the polished pieces, always require some sort of maintence to look good. Anyway hope this helps. Good Luck!!
