Yes, gears will hurt you pretty bad there. 420 miles on the freeway a week is going to be affected by gears alot, youll loose gas faster because youll be cruising at a higher rpm on the freeway. If you were interested, N20 would be your best best, 75 shot or under. Wet would be nice if you mount it on the lower intake manifold. Anywhere else is asking for trouble, fuel isnt meant to go through the intake manifold or throttle body. A dry shot is safe if you get some other stuff, a flip chip helps with dry shot alot, as well as msd ignition box that will automatically retard your timing when the juice is on. You could run a 100 shot or 125 if you got the ignition box.
about the nos, for a dry kit, as long as your injectors can supply the demand for fuel you could run a 125 shot reliably on a stock motor.
I did with no timing retard, set at 12degrees, just make sure you run the highest octane fuel you can find.

but if you are worried about fuel economy, just focus on the suspension,
and gears dont hurt it that bad, going from 3.08 to 3.73 gears I only gained about 200rpm doing 120kph.
thats like 1mpg or something.

msd ignition and coil will burn the fuel more efficiently, making a little more power.

NOS, CAI, and also the suspension will help you. TB and pulleys. Oh an yeah the full headers back exhaust. Some better tires. Love.

Here is what I plan to do over the next 2 to 3 months:

Taurus 3.8 Fan
4 to 5 lug conversion
New rims and tires (preferably lighter)
A good tune up
MSD Dist, box, coil and wires.
Underdrive pullies
Shorties
CAI probaly K&N (Do you guys recommend someone else?)
Suspension upgrade (Bilstien I heard were a soft ride and stiffer drive)
Polyurethane bushings

What do you guys think?

cai cold air intake!also advance the timing as much as possible as long as it is not pinging will increase power gas mileage and reduce the temp at which the engine runs!!
Increasing timing will increase your engines temp as well as produce more emissions but you will save gas. As long as your stock cooling system is in good condition your can advance the timing as much as nessesary. Remember to retard it for emissions or theres a good chance you won't pass.
