Intake operation rpm range

Intake operation rpm range
You see U/L intakes categorized by their operating range. Some say idle-6,000 some 1,500-6,500. Now when im racing or just driving around I generally am above 1,500, well when i need the power to be there im above 1,500. So would getting an intake that has a range of 1,500-6,500 be better than getting one that says idle-6,000?

RE: Intake operation rpm range
some say idle to 5500 and others are 1500 to 6500
no you would actually hurt some performance with a 1500 to 6500 intake if motor isnt setup for that range
street cars like the 1500 to 5500 intakes
track cars like the 1500 to 6500 intakes
all out drag cars sometimes take 2500 t0 7500 intakes

RE: Intake operation rpm range
My driving is about 3 days a week under normal driving, during the summer anyhow. And I will be taking it to the strip a few times a year, at least twice probably more though. Are there some other factors your talking about?

RE: Intake operation rpm range
The most important thing u need to consider is the rest of your set up. find the specs of ur cam and see when the cam peaks out. if ur cam peaks out around 5400 like mine, then the idle to 5500 intake is for u. if ur cam peaks out at 6400 then the other intake is better. heres a story for u. some f@ggot kid with a 95 5.0 wanted to race me for 100 dollars. i have done what it says in my signature and he has cam, intake, tb, and some other stuff... he has more aftermarket products but they dont match each other at all. to make a long story short, i beat him wit a more stock car and walked away wit the money. a little research will go a long way.
and yes not all f@gs drive imports. some drive stangs too
