Alright, so a stock 77 mustang 2 302 5.0L 4spd stick aint no GT or shelby. but even in comparision to the mustangs of the 80's it has the wheelbase of a toyota, poor center of gravity and runs on a sweet V8 5L. point being, shouldve ford Not offered a 302 5L in the 77 alike years due to the smaller size of the car? I just bought a stock/mint model 77 hatchback 4spd302 myself and damn. most would say that my year mustang was a poor one, but its never given me or my popany hassel. What do you guys think?

bad things on short wheel bases is it make it hard to get traction in straight line race

The mustang 2's are the oddball mustangs. In my opinion they were cool but its stupid how they did things. That oddball C4 they offered is a throwback from the pinto. They were one of the weakest mustangs to ever roll out.Does yours have any mods to make it quicker? My buddys dad is a cobra freak and has a few of the mustang 2's and his are original and not impressive what so ever!

The worst thing about the mustang 2's in my opinion is the fact that they arent compatible with other cars like all or most other fords. But it was the stepping stone to my favorite stangs the 79-93's so it cant be that bad.

Ya when you have a short wheel base and you have some reallyfat tires on it.. the things sorta acts like one giant tire and hooks up. Perfect for drag racing.

Well my baby here can burn out with a vengence! she can smoke up pretty good if i want to buy new tires. lol It does corner suprisingly well dispite the wheel base. And yea, it it was my choice i wouldve restored a cobra t-roof. but the old man gave me a good deal on the car. so im not going to complain. and true - parts can be hard to find unless you bought another 77 just for such an ocasion. But i will give it this, its good on gas, speedy, and great in the snow considering southcanadas rough winters. once again, a Great daily driver. the wifes 72nova on the other hand... Gas, Gas, Gas. it seems to be one of the rarer ponys though. not too many were sold.

Well to be honest my go cart with only a 5 horse could smoke the s**t out of the tires. My EXP escort with a 5 speed can get the tires to burn into third gear.

Burnouts can be done with about anything. That says nothing more than you have traction issues.SEVERE traction issues considering how weak the mustang 2's are.

But it is a ford so it well worth building up and most parts engine wise will work.Headers are going to be your hardest most expensive find.Everything else like carb, intake, ignition and what have you can be had through any parts store.
