Pinion Depth.
Hey in the process of installing 3.73 gears. Bought Ford Racing 3.73's. I dont quite get pinion depth. Cant I just put them in the same as the stock 3.08 gears were? I read the post above and I dont get how to measure or what to do. Some advice would be helpful.

You probably can get away with the same pinion depth. Just make sure to reuse you pinion bearing shim, or one of the same distance and make sure to check your pattern to verify you're not on the heel or toe of the crown to much.

RE: Pinion Depth.
when i did mine i called ford racing and they told me to use the stock shims or new ones that are the same ammout for the carrier and the pinion and if the pinion has anything written on it to add more shims it should tell you on the pinnion what to add, if their is nothing on it, put them in with all stock shims and it should be fine.
