Default Ignition Problem...?

Sometimes when i start my car (94 mustang gt) i turn the key and instantly the engine starts but it sounds weak and sounds like its about to cut off and the ignition turns over but its make a bunch of clicking sounds. Its really hard to explain, it doesnt particularly happen in the morning or in the cold. Randomly it will do it so its hard for me to convince somone when it will happen. I am thinking it is the ignition but i am not too sure. i cant really describe the sound but its like... the closest sound i can come up with is when your turn the key and while the engine starts you keep turning the key (i havent done that but i know how it sounds) thats how it sounds.

If anyone else has a problem with the ignition, but not exactly with my problem i would like to hear how you troubleshooted the problem, thanks a lot.

might need a new starter or check the wires and see if there's a poor connection
