Default temperture rise

I have a sn 95 vert with some mods, right after getting on it, the temp shoots up to around the right 3rd of the temp gauge...then goes right back to normal, does anyone have any info? could this be my water pump?

My car did the same thang till I changed the thermostat but it could also be you have a leak in the hose or gasket that is alowing pressure to get out. Have you noticed any steem after you drive it and shut down? but more or less its your thermostat.

For some reason alot of sn95's have that same problem, i do alot of road racing, so temp is a big deal for me, and as soon as i would go around the hard on it, the temp will jump up, i changed thermo, radiator, water pump, coolant and it continue doing t he same. It turns out that my gauge wasn't working properly and it was giving me miss reading. So if you change you thermo and it continues, stop there, and look at the gauge to see if its working preperly!!
