you could build a 306. it is the same block and mostly everything else. the motor is just bored .30 over.

Ford Racing sportsman shortblock, RHS heads, Edelbrock RPM II intake. The Ford Racing sportsman shortblock takes the guesswork out of the pistons, rods, and crank, and comes assembled. Let me know if you have any more questions, I can get you just about any part you want.

Using the TW heads will limit the pistons that are avialable to use.
Trick Flow has a nice set of forged pistons for this application.
I would also go with a forge crank (assuming enough power to warrant Dart block) and H style forged rods.
I got my forged crank from Hawks racing and my forged H style rods from SCAT.
Another source of pistons to work with the TW heads is Probe (running them in my 347)

ok, well the ford racing sportsmans short block is a no no, i have seen a good many of them fail with 500+hp, thats why i want to use a good block and good crank, so maby a Scat or a Frpp crank? pistons im not worried about because people like ross racing make great pistons and have them. i was thinkin like a 8.2-1 or 8.5-1 dish. rods Manly makes good rods would they be a good idea? or should i get them from scat?
so this is what im thinkin. also what oil pan should i use a 7qt? also what brand. what i have listed should that hold some power?

holley intake
trickflow tw heads fox lake stage 1
lunati cam
dart block
manly rods?
ross pistons?
scat crank?

You can get a nice Moroso, Canton, etc. There are some good pans out there but they can get pricey.

yep pans get pricey but im looking at a 2k block so im not going to cheep put on the oil pan becuase that motor needs the oil lol. i knew a guy that had a canton and it leaked since it was new, he got a moroso and it has not leaked since so i may get one of them. now windage try wise, i have a mac[:'(] should i put one back in this motor? if so what brand?

I know that there are a couple companies who make them but I'm not sure of the names and how reputable they are. You can go with a DSS Pro Windage Tray and they are supposed to fit w/ most aftermarket pans. Give them a call and see what they say.
