New to the board and I have a Qusetion. I am putting a 88 5.0 HO in my 97 F-150 out of a mustang GT.Anyone here ever heard of anyone doing this before? The truck has a bad 4.2 V6 and the 5.0 will bolt up to the trans. You could not get the 5.0 in this bodystyle truck, just the V6 or the modular V8's.I was wondering if the stock upper intake can be turned around so the throtle body is facing the driver's side? The passenger side of the truck is where the battery is and the stock air cleaner goes to the driver's side. I know this is going to be a wiring pain, but I am getting the wiring harness and computer with the motor out of the GT. Does anybody know if the stock or aftermarket H-pipe off the mustang will fit the truck? Anyinfo would be appreciated.

 

i've never heard of someone doing this, but when theres a will theres a way. sound like there might have to be some custom fabrication. about the x-pipe, i kinda doubt that they are the same since they are completely differant vehicles, but not sure on it. the truck is a lot longer, but i dont know where they connect the cat-back to the h-pipe. just measure it. about the intake- you could make a custom intake pipe and put that to the passenger side if the engine compartment and relocate the battery somewhere else. that is what i would do.
