i got a pro chamber used on ebay. when it arrived it turned out to be 3" except were it bolts to the headers there its 2 1/2. so my mufflers wont bolt up. i went to a muffler shop and they said they will weld an adapter for my 2 1/2 mufflers for 100 or for 250 they will weld 3" spintech mufflers up. i got the money but i wasn't expecting this added cost. what do you guys think. worth it? i know i don't need 3" but i like the sound of it becasue i'm getting ready for some laughing gas.

I would look around for a local welder that needs work or so. That is big money just to weld on an adapter....the local guy will charge you less than half of that. Plus welding isn't hard at all.

The exhaust shops love jacking up the prices.

the guy said thats like the extreme because he didn't see the exhaust or really fully understand what i was trying to acomplish. i dont want to weld the mufflers to the h-pipie that is how my x-pipe now is and it sucks when i want to do tranny work because i have to unbolt my entire exhaust as one piece also when smog comes around it would be nice to just bolt up my cats. not that there not on the car now wink' wink' but then again on ebay they got 3" mac dumps for $255 to your door.
