are the plugs for a 93 140mph speedo the same for a 87? if not how hard is it to do the swap?

Yes, but the 90-93 stangs are air bags, so your going to have to unscrew your 85mph speedo and screw it on the 140 speedo, so it wont say 140 but it will be calibrated for 140, just get yoiyur self some white face gauge covers and it will work just fine.

ok . but i kinda want to keep it looking stock. is that the only way or what else is the difference on the speedos? my friend is parting out a 93 conv. but i havent compared them closely yet.

Well then if you want to keep it stock your going have to get the whole cluster, and the 90-93 dash.

Theres no wires on the cluster its self, you just plug in 2 harnesses and the speedo connection
