Default 3rd and 4th no power

I have an 88gt. when I accelerate through first and second it does fine. When I hit third and fourth and slam the gas the rpmsgo up but it doesnt really feel like Im going any faster. now would that be the transmission or could it be timing or the throttle body. I have just done a tune up(plugs, wires, cap, rotor) and also replaced battery(optima) , alternator, tps. the only mod i have is a bbk cai. If anybody has any suggestions that would be great.

my car has the same prob...i dident really notice it untill one day at the track some chevy guy was laughin cause i had the stock gears. 1st-2nd feels fine, but then 3rd it is just weak....i would look into some new rear end gears....doubt it is your clutch if everything else feels fine. I am lookin into 373's...good for drivin around as well as racing.

if it was the clutch you would have trouble getting it into the gears. get some 3.73s <IMG src=smileys/smiley2.gif border="0">they should fix the problem
