Rear seat removal

RE: Rear seat removal
Yeah the seats and brackets aren't heavy at all. I heard that you lose like 60 pounds from removing them and putting in a rear seat delete. I took mine out and the rear seat delete probably weighs just as much. Unless they are in really really bad shape, or if you NEED to remove them (i.e. to fit roll cage) , leave'em in. To take them out all you have to do is push down on the very edge of the seat cushion and pull forward a little and then pull up on it and it should pop right off. Then you'll see the bolts for the bottom brackets. To remove the back cushions fold up the carpet on the back of the seat and you'll see 4 bolts a piece (i think) then just remove the hinging. It's really not that hard.

Lol we took the seats out of a friends Eclipse GST and it was so pointless. They were so light you can pick them up with one hand and toss em. The seats dont really seem THAT heavy, at least in my SN95 but the back rests do add a little bit of useless weight.

RE: Rear seat removal
they are way light...i just took mine out to replace a 1/4 window.
there are 2 bolts on the bottom of the upper, the lower just pulls out.
they are 20 LBS. MAX...no way any more.
like stated b4....you can throw them across the garage w/ one hand.
besides...leave that ghetto race $hit to the ricers.
