Default which cylinder heads

im about ready to order some new heads to replace my (i think they are) stock ones on my 83. im looking to build a dd street monster with a turbo, my goal being 400+ rwhp. it also has a mild cam in it right now...im thinking i should stay with this¿ my question is what size cylinder head will provide me with the best streetable needs. thanks for any input you may have for me, im learning as i go

The AFRs are real nice heads but are a little pricey. I went with the Eddelbrock just because im comfortable with there stuff. Also the trickflows arenice too, and Are cheaper than the AFRs.

I know lots of ppl with the TFS Twisted Wedge heads and love them. A buddy of mine years ago did all the bolt ons without a cam change and that thing ran like a raped ape!!

Im thinking of doing the same with mine. im doing all the susp first then he engine stuff will start, with a stock cam. Then after awhile i might change it!!!

Try out the RHS heads. Mike says they flow close to the AFR's for less and I guess he had some flow charts to prove it. Since they are cheaper you might as well go with that. Most of the time you are just paying for the name Trickflow, edelbrock, etc... If they flow well who cares about the name. I'm just going to go look for another set of GT40P heads and port them along with the U/L manifold.

what i was unsure about is which specific model...the afr 165s, 185s...i was also considering rhs heads, tho i havent heard a whole lot about them. i guess my main question is will any size of the intake runners on every brand simply bolt onto on my engine, and if so, what would be too much¿

They both will boolt right up. I believe the reason they say the 205 are race is for smog/not street legal heads. Go with 185's if you can afford them. I still think giving the RHS would be a good idea. It would save you money and if they have the chart to prove the airflow thats all you need.
