Default Idle Air Control. How do you reset it?

One last thing to fix on this car. is the Idle Air Control. Normally i guess i could take an alan wrench and set the idle myself. but the computer seems to ignore my settings and control the idle itself. How to fix this ? Its running high idle when ever i go into nuetral. or press the clutch down. and it comes down a little more when my engine speed is at a full stop. the rpms get as high as 1500

maybe the IAC is faulty, just a thought, usually you have to unplug the IAC
then set your idle and plug it back in

Reply the idle is pretty much set by the computer. You should not be adjusting the idle manually. Instead, set the idle screw so that it is about half a turn back from sitting on the throttle linkage. Reset the computer (disconnect the battery) and turn the car on and let it warm up by itself. If you have a stock throttle body don't play with the throttle position sensor. If your car is idling high or low after that it could be attributed to vacuum leaks or a faulty IAC motor. Let me know if you need any performance parts [8D]
