3:73's or 4:10's
I am trying to decide what gears to go with. I am leaning towards the 4:10's and wondering what RPM will I be running down the highway with an automatic.
What are you running and what do you like about em,? pros and cons?
My goal is to have a strong street runner with an occasional trip to the Drags. I ordered and should be getting the H Pipe and Mac 2.5 exhaust by the end of the week, and am planning all of the other bolt on mods. (CIA, pulleys, etc) basicly whatever I can do without tearing into the motor. (until I blow it,..hee.hee)
Thanks,
Darrin

RE: 3:73's or 4:10's
i like 4.10's even in my 5-speed.
same od gearing in both tranny's...
so you'll turn about 2500 @ 70-75
i had 3.73's in 2 aod cars and they were not enuff at all, even w/ wide gearset and a 2200 stall it ran 14.40's

RE: 3:73's or 4:10's
I have 3.73 and i cant notice a difference from my stock gears. Just say screw it and get the 4.10s, like going faster is not what you want. Youll eventually get the 4.10s even if you dont do it now. We all know it, so do like WE didnt do and just do it right the first time. Go with the 4.10s.

RE: 3:73's or 4:10's
i say get something around 4.50 if there is such thing. my 3.73's made a big difference from the stock 2.73's. but i wish i would have spent my money on some 4.10's or 4.11's. with an auto 4.10's are almost like 3.73's because of the Over drive. i say get a lower gear than 4.10's if you want a huge difference. If your on the highway alot then go with 4.10s. your gas mileage will only decrease by about 5 mpg per tank at the most. do some research on the site. this question comes up about 2wice a week like Kbush said.
