RE: 331 question
hey man, just did a 347. Definately replace your pushrods, and get a main cap support girdle. (protect your investment) Are your rocker arms original? Cam OE? I usually trust Fel-Pro gaskets exclusively. Valve springs, seals and guides if your not replacing heads.

RE: 331 question
heres a few more tips, i just did a rbuild on my 347, new rear main seal and front timing chain seal. when u do your ioil pan gasket, use a 1 piece rubber gasket, not that four piece with the cork ****. thats basicly it. there might be a fewthings im fogetting but if i rememver anything else ill chime back in

RE: 331 question
The F303 cam is a blower cam. You would be better off going with another cam if you are not going to use a blower. Main girdle for sure and I would run the Canton girdle, pil pan, pick up, High Volume pump and matching windage tray for the girdle to keep oil to the engine during sustained high RPM blasts.

RE: 331 question
i would go with a better cam then that there are comp cams that you will get more power from then a (a b c Ford cam). Also yes you def need to change the pushrods and get harden ones and AFR reccommends you to change the springs over .500 lift anyways so you probably will need to change those as well bc you will have more lift then that. Def like said above use only rubber gaskets and 1 piece ones like on the oil and rear main seal you dont want those leaking.

RE: 331 question
When talking about the girdle, I hope by "protecting your investment" you mean you are trying to save the crank and rods. The girdle is not going to keep your block from splitting. It will hold it together after the block splits and possibly allow you to reuse some of the rotatng assembly. But if you are buying a girdle to keep your block from splitting, you're wasting money.

RE: 331 question
If you are planning on going with boost in the future I would go ahead and O-ring the block. This can easily be done when building a new motor or have the shortblock out of the car. Also you can use the Fel-pro 8548-pt2 head gaskets, these are stock replacements and they work extremely well.
