All the 87-93 5.0s are EFI not carb. None of the cars have forged cranks and it isn't necessary in a stock block. You'll split the block long before you break the stock crank. GT and LX is primarily visual difference. Buy what you think looks better. The LX is lighter though but I wouldn't buy based off that. You can always make any of them do anything you want. You should also consider 90-92 cars. The big difference will be the tilt steering vs. airbag. It's not a big deal.

Thats cool, I'm definitely gonna keep my options open, but the Look of the front end ont eh '89 is more appealing to me than the 90-93, although I think the 90-93 is beautiful. So cha. Thanks for all of the help guys, its greatly appreciated.

What's the difference in the look of the front end? The 87-93 are the same GT vs GT and LX vs LX. The pre-87 cars are the 4 eyes.

Nope. Smaller grill on the 88-89, the 90-93s have the full hood, if thats what it could be called. See:

There is a difference, unless it varies from car to car. Come to see those pics, I like the '90+ front end a bit more.........

EDIT: PK, there seems to be some problems with me putting pics up, but of you Google the two years, there seems to be a difference in the very front of the hood with the grill. But who knows. I'm still starting to dig the '90+, haha .

Yes that was a picture of an LX and one was a picture of a GT.

The GT has the well, Lack of grill.
LX has the long slots.

I wouldn't exclude the 93's if you're basing off of power as well.
Just as fast as the previous years, they just measured the power with the accessories.
The previous years they did not.

There were also SOME slight changes throughout the years though, so don't get me wrong.
