I appologize if this has been asked before but I was wondering what needs to be done, what parts I'll need and all that fancy stuff to do a swap from Automatic to Manual transmission in a 1989 Ford Mustang GT Convertible.

 

Tranny,bellhousing,crossmember,driveshaft,clutch cable,brake/clutch pedal assembly,clutch,shifter,clutch fork,TO bearing,flywheel,pilot bearing that should be about it...and you will need the shift boot and a manual cover...

 

you don't need a crossmember nor will you need a driveshaft.you will need in adition a t-5 back up light wiring harness a speedo gear for a t-5.clutch cable retaining clip.

 

Um your right about that...oops got ahead of myself there...but i always thought the yoke was diff. on the aod's and t-5's

 

have either of you done this swap? just curious and how much would I be looking at spending roughly?

 

i didnt have to do any wiring changes other than unplug the aod ext harness under the car and what was left of the harness plugged into the t5 and my backup lights work my car is a 91 vert gt though!
