a custom grind is worth the money because you can give all the specs and they will make a cam for what you have to make the best out of your combo. the next motor i build will have a custom cam

For a custom cam and those parts yes. What kind of cam? Hyd roller?

Another custom guy and friend of mine is Jay Allen at www.camshaftinnovations.com he's a hell of a nice guy and helped me out a ton.

Ed Curtis at FTI seems to be the custom cam guy for people running AFRs, but you can't beat Jay Allen's customer service. Jay is much easier to talk to than Ed. This is the biggest reason I bought my newest cam from Jay. But as far as the product is concerned, you'll be happy with anything from Jay Allen, Ed Curtis or Buddy Rawls.

custom cams aren't needed in your case there are soooo many off the self cams today... most people just waste 100's of bux for nothing...

tim..dude your wasting you money....any cam will have all it's spec for you.....now if I had a 700hp street engine yes you bet I would get one but even then with any reseach by the cam maker he has done several all ready it's not like your going to get a 1 off cam.. and that it has some special power to make tons more power than a shelf cam in your engine

Unless you buy a Ford or Trick Flow cam, most other brands are ~$259. A custom is in the $300-325 range shipped to your door. Working closely with a custom grinder you can have a more streetable car with more power all through the rpm band for a small added cost.
