Default quad shocks

I have an 85 GT that i am putting a 8.8 3.73 rear end in and i need to modify the quad shock mounts on the new rear end to run quad shocks. I am curious as to how much of a difference the quad shocks make. Would i notice a difference if i opted not to run them? If so what types of situations would i notce it in? Has anyone out there decided not to use them?

Thanks for the help,
Dan

Quad shocks reduce wheel hop, I disconnected mine from the rear end and the difference was noticable real quick.

Lakewood traction bars!!! $200...You don't need that Quad Shock then...Also if you upgrade to KYB Shcoks you can choose to run the Quad or not. I scrapped my quad and run the traction bars...they make a huge difference.

I removed my quad shocks because I have 335 rear tires. I can say that it didn't make a material diffence in the ride.

rm that tubro coupe rear is .75" wider so you might need to change the backspace on your rims

rmodel65- yeah that is the rear end i got. (mine is out of an 87) Thats a really good deal if you can get it for that. I got mine for $300 and i have to get new calipers and it is rusted pretty good.

vfast- is "backspace" another word for offset? I know it is wider by a little but i am curious as to what you mean, and if i did need to change the backspace and didn't what problem(s) would i run into?

How are you running traction bars on your stang? I thought those were for cars with leaf springs.
