17x9 Rims How big of Tire

The set up i am going on my 4-lug 17inch cobra r's are 245/45/17 in front and in the back i want go a little bigger,But what is the biggest i could go with out rubbing and cutting performance.

285/40-17 with oem cobra r's and dont have a problem

That seems to big? Performance must suck,I thought the max was 275/45/17

275 is a good fit for a 9 inch rim according to tire rack...

275's will fit in the rear of a fox?!?

Get a nice tire that will look good and sleek people get the biggest tires and the biggest rims and that actuallymakes them go slower b/c of the weight.
