2.73 are called highway gears they'll give you good top speed, but not the best acelleration, but 3.73s are a good all around gear they'll give you good accelleration and you can still use them on the highway. if you've got a automatic 4.10s are your best friend i love mine with a passion, but if you have a manual 3.73s are what ive heard is good for them, it all depends on your driving route and if your on the highway alot or not

The difference between 2.73 and 3.73? 1 LOL

When I changed from 2.73 to 3.73 it was a night and day change. It didn't affect gas mileage hardly at all and the car was much more repsponsive and fun to drive.

They gears are usually about 200 bux, and normal labor cost for installation is around 300 bux...

For every tire rotation your driveshaft will spin 3.73 times.
Meaning, you'll have better accelleration, but at the cost of running the car at a higher rpm than usual.
So each gear will have a lower top speed.
It will FEEL like you have more power, but you wont.

If anyone is looking to buy gears. There used to be ads in the Mustang magazines for Gene Evans Ford that had FMS gears for like $139 or $149. You can call Summit and have them price match it and give free shipping. That's pretty cheap for FMS gears.
