Default exhaust setup

I have a question about my exhaust. Right now I have the original headers going into my honed out cats. From there it goes into my X pipe and out the back of the car. I have no mufflers. The stang sounds great and I like the way it sounds when its idling!! My questions are 1) Do I have to worry about not having back pressure and 2) if i do have to worry about back pressure and I would have to get some mufflers to take care of it what kind/brand should I go with. I'm looking for a really good/aggressive sound at idle and I'm not to concerned about how it sounds on the highway. I know I should get new headers but I'm going to wait on that so I can get some other things done to it. Thanxs for any help you can give me!!!!

I just got some Borla Pro X's and they sound preety nice. Having no tails affects back pressure a little bit but what causes the most discomfort is the smell right under the chasis.

If you want an agressive deep tone I would go with flowmasters. Not the very best as far as performance, but I'll take the couple hp loss for the sound!

I thought the Oppisite of flowmasters, I feel like Magnaflow and Borla has a real nice deep tone.

Flows sound raspy to be for some reason.

the one chamber is real raspy... but the 2 chamber sounds deeper. My friend had some borlas on his 00 and I didn't really like the sound. It was too quiet he switched to flows. But I guess it depends on the person ya know.

I actually do have the exhaust going all the way to the back of the car with magnaflow tips. I'm sorry if I didn't mention that. Everyones telling me that I could burn out some valves if I don't have any back pressure. I would think that the x pipe and the bends in the pipes going over the rear axel would be enough back pressure or am I wrong? Thanxs for your help!!

Yes you are loosing alot of back pressure but its not going to affect you that much. Also, Im not trying to be an a$$hole but whats up with the chrome wiper blades, the dice, the double lisc plates, and the flamming seat covers ???
