Ok so I have put a new engine in my car, it runs great except for when Im just cruising around. It just chugs down the road pretty bad, kinda like its running out of gas. The odd thing is that when I give it any throttle it goes away. Im starting to think that it has something to do with removing the smog. What all do you have to take off or unplug when taking all that stuff off?? I took off the smog pump, plugged the back of the heads, and capped the vacum lines that were running to the sileniods on the smog pump lines.

what year is the car and did you check the fuel filter

 

what rear gears do you have in the car

 

timing is good, about 14 degrees, has 3:73s, and is a 1990. I havent checked for any codes yet, I dont have anything to do that with.

 

new motor? what rpms does it start to do this, and what gear, what cam are you using?

 

do you have the smog crap on the car

 

Yes its a brand new engine, has the TFR Stage 1 cam in it. It doesnt start at a set RPM, it just does it at 65MPH and up so that would be 3rd 4th and 5th gear. And yes I removed all the smog stuff....well as far as I know.
