Default Tuning

I've often read about people upgrading some engine parts and then taking it to get tuned.....what is envloved in the tuning, and what can be changed with the obd 1 computer in a 95 mustang.

Well they can tune the ignition curve, fuel curve, timing advance, idle rpm,rev limiter and also for certain engine upgrades..really its almost endless of the things you can do with the right type of software...

Generally "tuned" means they altered the computer with a chip or something else to get the air/fuel ratio closer to optimal for their combo. Most people who do timing and fuel pressure adjustments on a dyno don't claim to be "tuned" though it is a form of tuning. The term is generally saved for when a professional gets their hands on it.

No....its really just a waste of money unless you have extensive mods...i.e H/c/i,boosted or juiced would be the only way i would purchase a chip for a stang.

Default RE: Tuning

It takes quite a bit to need a chip for a 5.0.
