Well, the first time I tried to build my car I put about 4K into it. The second time about 2K and now Im on the third time and now Im doing it the right way and im going new motor, trans, rear, suspension, fuel, ignition, interior, body, paint, etc. I will be buying my motor in the next month or two so by that time so far I will have 13K. And its just a start. AND I WONDER WHY I DONT HAVE MONEY!!!

Engine from Recon Automotive: $1700 (302 bored .040" over and rebuilt with new everything except rods, block, heads, and crank (all machined) dyno-tested (238.9hp/302.1ft/lbs tq with a carburetor on it) and broken-in and shipped all for that $1700)
Flowtech Headers: $150
Mac H-pipe: $160
Flowtech Warlock Mufflers: $150
Tranny Built by Mace-O-Matic Transmissions in Belton: $1675 (includes improved torque converter and shift kit)
Ford Racing Injectors: $200

Ultra Clear Headlights: $170 (laugh all you want, between the utlra clear lenses and Sylvania Silverstar bulbs I can see three times further!)

All of that's just in the GT. Don't ask about the II or my Truck, they're cheap compared to that and faster! lol.

Lets see: 1991 GT Red, 5 spd, New Engine, Convert. Motor Mounts, heads, cam, roller rockers, intakes, cold air, headers, H-pipe, Flowmaster cat back, high volume oil pump, bosch water pump, flex-a-lite, edelbrock adj. timing set, mallory hardened push rods, Superior 4.10 gears, springs, MSD ign. (TFI, Wires), BBK Throttle Body/EGR spacer, Vortech MAF, New balancer, timing cover, and a new set of tires = appx. $10,000

The only things I have not touched are the pulley's, drive shaft, and control arms.

I paid $3500 for the car with a good interior and was completely stock though. I have about $7400 in parts for my car now and about $5000 or so to go into it to finish it. I have way to many mods to list but put it this way there is almost nothing left stock on this stock anymore. For list of mods click here

I have how much ever a K&N filter is, I believe like $45.00 and then my Mac o/r h-pipe which is $130.00 + taxes and $45.00 for mil eliminators.

im_stuck_in_iraq, with what kind of car you have and your mods, you will be about a whole second or more slower than one. So you wouldnt stomp them.
