hey...i have an 89 5.0 lx.i got the phontom tach and need some help putting it in. i no this is a stupid question but where can i find my ignition switch harness. is it underneath the steering wheel?i know tht i have to splice the white wire into the 12v but im having trouble finding the right wire...someone help me for the lov of god. Any help would be greatly appreciated..thanks a lot

You're looking for a 12v signal wire that is activated in the Key On engine Off sequence huh?
I actually used the signal wire from my radio (advice from roundman, which btw; where has he gone to?)

But you should try to find the wire it calls for, with the diagram(s) it should be easier

 

sry and i dont meen to steal the thread, but i have a monster tach, would any of you guys mind telling me where im supposed to splice the white, green, red (and im assuming the black goes to a ground) wires go too? again im sry and i dont meen to hyjack your thread but its in the same topic

yah i bought the thing off my friend and he gave me the instructions but i lost them. i guesse ill just called up autometer when im ready to install it

 

the white wire should be to illuminate the tach
run that wire to your headlight switch and tap into the parking lights wire
