So its friday, and I have air conditioning
Alright im just about o start my "project" on my car, im planning on porting the upper and lower intakes and the heads while at the same time throwing in roller rockers lifters and possibly a new cam. my question is about the A/C i still have on my car, im pretty sure its charged or was originally charged with r-12, the stuff that hurts the ozone layer and is no longer used. i did recharge my A/C but i know that stuff is prob still in there and im pretty sure the whole system is pressurized... so how do i take it off? do i have to take it to a place that can remove the r-12 for me? how much would that cost? or can i just take it off my self? but if i do how... and where do i release the pressure? any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys...

I'd take the car to a shop and pay the shop to remove the Freon. I'd make a deal with them that when your finished you would return to have it refilled.
#1. Freon can take your breath away, not good stuff.
#2. You will lose some amout of oil, this needs to get replaced. Usually an ounce or two is good.
#3. If your near enough when you let the freon to excape it my Freeze you eye if it comes in contact. This is not good.
When it comes time to replace the freon the shop will put the system under a vacuume. By doing this it make the system "Think" it's below sea level and any moisture in the system will turn to a gas and be removed.
How you remove the freon is your business, I just wanted to point out some of the cautions in doing so.
Best of Luck on your project sounds interesting,
