Funny i see this thread. I was just going to write about me getting spanked bad by an LS1. Im pretty much stock except exhaust and subframes. I have 2:73's and 5speed. Im getting 3:55's in 2 weeks. I want to do all bolt ons, with stock cam,just for the smooth idle. My friend did that to his 91 back in 95, man that thing would scream. I hope to update you all by summer.

my friend has a trans am with the ls1 engine the 5.7 litre engine. i can take him off rolling start to mid ways but he pulls away from me after that but im pretty much stock, still so is he but hes got a standard ive got an auto. my friend on the other hand who has the same car as me beats him with both of us in the car, my friend has an 88 gt shorty headers, off-road h-pipes(turn downs) and some other stuff im not really sure ive never seen under his hood.

yes i can take Ls1's i live in TJ they have drags here ones a month and i ussually just go to watch but the last time i went like 2 weeks ago there waz this one black SS looked clean and the guys home boy came and asked if i wanted to race i said "NO" but then the owner came and asked if i waz afraid and to tell u the truth i did think i waz gonna loose but when we lined up i i put my car in 1first and pressed the brake and reved it to 2000 rpm took off never looked back had verry lil tire spin i heard from my cuz that the camaro waz like half a car behind me so i think that waz good for been my first time running my car with this comb.

ive beat several stock ls1 cars in the 1/8th and a few in the 1/4.

these were on motor. its easy to kill a stock one on the spray.

Sorry, none of my Mustangs are without power adders, so LS1s are just another kill.

'89 5 -speed....

bone stock motor, 4.10's , ET streets, CAI, southsides, MAc lt's , and flowmaster catback 2 1/2"
also the convo pro's w/ skinnies up front , and NOS 5115 jetted at 75 hp.





this was a motor pass....good enuff to beat ls1's , but not by much...i've seen ls1's go 12.90's w/ just exhaust

my best kill however was a '95 viper, caught him coming home from the dragstrip one night, and smack talked til he would run out of embarrassment.

basically he asked " why ...you think you can beat me " ?????

i said " no.....i KNOW i can, i just want to know by how much"

started from a light, i put about 6 cars on him...spraying of course

Killing a LS1 is like a walk in the park, nothing to it even in a Old Mans car

Mmmm... LS1's running 13.6 is not typical, usually they are 13.2-13.4 and of course they have dipped into the 12's, stock.

As long as the 302 is modded enough to pull at lease a full second quicker, it should hang fairly well with a stock LS1. Oh, where are there stock LS1's :lol: ?
